- name: Cilium
- kind: cli
- children: none

Changes to the tools coding agents drive, since a model's training cutoff, each linked to its first-party source. Check installed versions and limitations before acting; a cutoff date does not establish what a model knows.

### Cilium adds hybrid routing mode (2026-07-14)
- slug: cilium-adds-hybrid-routing-mode-e42ccf0d2ce8
- score: 0.93

How to use it:

When configuring Cilium for directly connected and cross-subnet pod traffic, set `routing-mode: hybrid` to select native routing for directly connected subnets and tunneling across subnets, as stated in the v0.19.6 release note.

- why_it_matters: Configure Cilium routing for pods in directly connected and cross-subnet topologies.
- sources: <https://github.com/cilium/cilium-cli/releases/tag/v0.19.6>, <https://docs.cilium.io/en/stable/helm-values/>
- gotchas: "Version: v0.19.6"; "routing-mode (required): The release note names `hybrid` as the routing-mode value. The current Helm values docs list only empty, `native`, and `tunnel`; they do not document `hybrid`."; "routingMode (required): Helm value documented to enable native-routing or tunneling mode; allowed values are empty, `native`, and `tunnel`."; "Docs conflict: Current Cilium 1.20.3 Helm values docs do not list `hybrid` as an allowed `routingMode` value; current routing docs describe native routing and encapsulation, without hybrid. The v1.20.0-rc.1 release discussion says hybrid routing support was reverted."; "Docs conflict: No complete runnable `cilium` CLI invocation using `routing-mode: hybrid` found in official documentation at or after v0.19.6."

### cilium-dbg adds table-json output for BGP peers and routes (2026-07-14)
- slug: cilium-dbg-adds-table-json-output-for-bgp-peers-and-routes-cef5975e78f1
- score: 0.90

How to use it:

When you need scriptable BGP peer or route data, run the relevant `cilium-dbg bgp` command with `--format table-json`.

Examples:

```
cilium-dbg bgp peers --format table-json
```

```
cilium-dbg bgp routes available ipv4 unicast --format table-json
```

- why_it_matters: Inspect BGP peer or route data in a scriptable format.
- sources: <https://github.com/cilium/cilium-cli/releases/tag/v0.19.6>, <https://github.com/cilium/cilium/pull/45858>, <https://docs.cilium.io/en/stable/cmdref/cilium-dbg_bgp_routes/>
- gotchas: "Version: v0.19.6"; "--format table-json: Selects table-shaped JSON output. The v0.19.6 release note adds this format for `bgp/peers` and `bgp/routes`; the command implementation recognizes `table-json`."; "bgp routes <available|advertised> <afi> <safi> (required): Selects available or advertised routes and their address family; `ipv4 unicast` is documented as an example."; "Docs conflict: Current stable Cilium command-reference pages list `-o/--output` formats as `json|yaml|jsonpath='{}'` for `cilium-dbg bgp routes`; they do not document `table-json`. The v0.19.6 release note and linked implementation document the added format."
