Balance Settings API configures connected-account start_of_day

Introduced 2026-05-27 · score 0.91

HOW TO USE IT

For an eligible connected account, set `payments[settlement_timing][start_of_day]` when updating its Balance Settings to define the local cutoff used for automatic payout grouping. Use a supported time zone and an allowed hour for the account’s country.

curl https://api.stripe.com/v1/balance_settings \ -u "<YOUR_SECRET_KEY>:" \ -H "Stripe-Account: <CONNECTED_ACCOUNT_ID>" \ --data-urlencode "payments[settlement_timing][start_of_day][timezone]=<SUPPORTED_TIME_ZONE>" \ -d "payments[settlement_timing][start_of_day][hour]=<HOUR>" \ -d "payments[settlement_timing][start_of_day][minutes]=<MINUTES>"

WHY THIS HELPS

When aligning a connected account’s payment availability and automatic payout bundling with its local business hours, update that account’s balance settings with a custom daily cutoff.

BEFORE THIS CHANGE

Connected accounts used the same start-of-day time as their platform.
