bk auth login --device accepts --org
Introduced 2026-09-21 · score 0.94
HOW TO USE IT
When logging in through device authorization and you want to preselect an organization, run `bk auth login --device --org <organization-slug-or-UUID>`. The organization is a hint; the user can select another available organization before approving.
bk auth login --device --org <organization-slug-or-UUID>WHY THIS HELPS
When logging in to a specific organization through device authorization, pass its slug or UUID as an organization hint.
BEFORE THIS CHANGE
Before this change, `bk auth login --device` rejected `--org`, so multi-organization users had to select the intended organization manually in the browser.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- Version: v3.57.0
- --device: Authenticate using OAuth device authorization instead of opening a browser callback.
- --org <organization-slug-or-UUID>: Organization slug or UUID to request access for; used as a preselection hint.
- organization: Device authorization request hint for an organization; permits preselection if the signed-in user can authorize it.
- organization_uuid: Alternative device authorization request hint using the organization UUID. The docs do not state whether this and `organization` are mutually exclusive or which takes precedence.
- Requires additive device authorization endpoint support; older endpoints safely ignore the hint.
