bk build watch supports --timeout
Introduced 2026-09-21 · score 0.98
HOW TO USE IT
When waiting for a build, run `bk build watch` with `--timeout` to bound build resolution and watching; expiry stops polling and returns a nonzero error without canceling the build.
bk build watch 429 --pipeline my-pipeline --timeout 20mWHY THIS HELPS
When waiting for a build during repository work, bound how long the watch command runs.
BEFORE THIS CHANGE
Watch without a timeout; it could run endlessly.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- Version: v3.57.0
- <build-number>: Build number to watch; omit to watch the most recent build.
- --pipeline: Pipeline slug or org/pipeline slug; required when no pipeline context supplies it.
- --timeout: Maximum time to resolve and watch the build; accepts durations such as 30s or 20m. Default 0 means no timeout. Expiry does not cancel the build.
- Omitting `--timeout` or setting it to `0` preserves unlimited watching.
- Negative durations are rejected.
- Expiry does not cancel the build.
