cdk init accepts custom project names with --project
Introduced 2026-01-15 · score 0.99
HOW TO USE IT
When initializing a CDK project with a custom name, run `cdk init` with a template, language, and `-n <project-name>`. The versioned source documents the long option as `--project-name` (the release note says `--project`).
cdk init app --language=typescript -n <project-name>WHY THIS HELPS
Initialize a CDK project with a custom project name.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- Version: 2.1101.0
- template (`app`, `lib`, or `sample-app`) (required): Template type for the new project.
- `--language`, `-l`: Language for the new project; valid values include `typescript`.
- `--project-name`, `-n`: Name of the new project; requires a string argument. The source gives no default value.
- Prerequisite: Node.js or another JavaScript runtime is required; versioned CLI README specifies Node.js v18 as the minimum supported version.
- Docs conflict: The release note names the long option `--project`; the versioned source defines `project-name` with alias `n`.
