chrome-devtools-mcp upload_file accepts multiple paths

Introduced 2026-08-25 · score 0.97

HOW TO USE IT

When a file input supports multiple selections, call `upload_file` with an array of local paths. Use a string path for a single-file upload.

{"name":"upload_file","arguments":{"uid":"<file-input-uid>","filePaths":["<local-path-1>","<local-path-2>"]}}
{"name":"upload_file","arguments":{"uid":"<file-input-uid>","filePaths":"<local-path>"}}

WHY THIS HELPS

Upload multiple files through a file input that supports multiple selections.

BEFORE THIS CHANGE

The release note says `upload_file` accepted only one path.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

  • Version: 1.8.0
  • uid (required): Snapshot uid of the file input or an element that opens the page's file chooser.
  • filePaths (required): One or more local file paths to upload; accepts an array, and the release note says a string remains supported for one file.
  • includeSnapshot: Whether to include a snapshot in the response; defaults to false.
  • The CLI cannot pass arrays and exposes only the single-value form.
