circleci function list filters pseudo-versions unless requested

Introduced 2026-10-15 · score 0.94

HOW TO USE IT

When inspecting untagged function builds, run `circleci function list --include-pseudo` to include pseudo-versions in each function’s versions. To select or pin one by version, use `--version` or `function add`/`function update` without `--include-pseudo`.[^1][^2]

circleci function list --include-pseudo
circleci function list --include-pseudo --json --jq '.[].versions'

WHY THIS HELPS

When listing function versions and you need to inspect untagged builds, include pseudo-versions in the list.

BEFORE THIS CHANGE

Before this change, `circleci function list` included pseudo-versions without requiring a flag.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

  • Version: v1.6.0
  • --include-pseudo: Include pseudo-versions (untagged builds) in each function’s versions; defaults to false.
  • --version: Version selector mentioned in the release note; the note says pseudo-versions can be selected without `--include-pseudo`. Its flag syntax and requiredness were not documented on the official page read.
  • Prerequisite: Use CircleCI CLI v1.6.0 or later for the documented `--include-pseudo` flag.
  • Prerequisite: The CLI README says to log in with `circleci auth login`.
  • Pseudo-versions are untagged builds.
  • Pseudo-versions are omitted from version listings unless requested.
  • A pseudo-version named with `--version`, or pinned by `function add` and `function update`, is found without `--include-pseudo`.
