Introduced 2026-09-08 · score 0.92

HOW TO USE IT

When a workflow must not expose JavaScript evaluation, start Chrome DevTools MCP with `--javascript-evaluation=false` (or `--javascriptEvaluation=false`).

npx -y chrome-devtools-mcp@1.9.0 --javascript-evaluation=false

WHY THIS HELPS

Disable script evaluation tools when running Chrome DevTools MCP for a workflow that must not expose JavaScript evaluation.

BEFORE THIS CHANGE

Leave the option at its default, `true`, and JavaScript evaluation tools remain available.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

  • Version: 1.9.0
  • --javascriptEvaluation / --javascript-evaluation: Boolean; defaults to `true`. Set to `false` to disable evaluation tools, `navigate_page`'s `initScript` parameter, and navigation to `javascript:`, `data:`, or `vbscript:` URLs.
  • Prerequisite: Node.js LTS, npm, and current stable Chrome or newer are listed as requirements.
  • The option is boolean and defaults to `true`.
