flyctl adds the fly skills command group

Introduced 2026-10-29 · score 0.96

HOW TO USE IT

To install, refresh, remove, or inspect Fly agent skills in a local coding-agent setup, run the corresponding `fly skills` subcommand; use `--yes` to skip the install confirmation and `--force` to overwrite local edits.

fly skills install [--agent <slug>...] [--force] --yes
fly skills update [--agent <slug>...] [--force]
fly skills status [--json] [--offline]

WHY THIS HELPS

Install or maintain Fly agent skills in a local coding-agent setup.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

  • Version: v0.5.1
  • Non-interactive: Install asks for confirmation unless `--yes` is passed; when confirmation is non-interactive, the prompt is skipped.
  • Non-interactive: Progress indicators are reported on stderr.
  • --agent <slug>: Limit action to named agent(s); repeatable or comma-separated. Accepted: universal, claude-code, codex, cursor, opencode, copilot, factory-droid, pi, antigravity.
  • --yes: Skip confirmation.
  • --force: Overwrite locally modified files.
  • --json: Emit status as JSON.
  • --offline: Skip checking upstream for a newer revision.
  • Installation targets `~/.agents/skills/<name>/` and `<tool>/skills/<name>/` for each detected agent.
  • Update preserves edited or deleted files unless `--force` is used.
  • Removal deletes only files recorded in the manifest; user-added files survive.
  • Install prompts once unless `--yes` is passed or stdin is not a terminal.
