Introduced 2026-11-02 · score 0.93
HOW TO USE IT
When setting up detected coding agents for Fly.io, run `fly setup agent` to install Fly skills, configure the hosted MCP server, and handle sign-in.
fly setup agent [--agent <slug>...] [-y|--yes] [--skip-mcp] [--skip-skills] [--skip-login] [--force] [--json]WHY THIS HELPS
Set up detected coding agents to use Fly.io skills and its hosted MCP server.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- Version: v0.5.2
- Non-interactive: `--json` requests JSON output. The release note describes login/signup offers for an interactive terminal and says `-y` on a terminal runs login; it does not specify headless behavior, prompts without a TTY, or output streams.
- --agent <slug>: Select agent(s), overriding detection.
- -y, --yes: Accept agent selection; on a terminal, run login.
- --skip-mcp: Skip MCP configuration.
- --skip-skills: Skip skill installation.
- --skip-login: Skip sign-in handling.
- --force: Repair the `fly` MCP entry while retaining extra keys.
- Detection matches `fly skills`: a tool is present when its parent directory exists, and the universal `~/.agents` target is always included.
- `--agent` overrides detection.
- `--force` repairs the `fly` MCP entry's type, URL, tools, and enabled state; extra keys such as headers stay.
- `--force` does not overwrite locally edited skill files; `fly skills install --force` is needed for that.
- `--force` does not bypass the symlink containment check.
- Skills and MCP files are written before sign-in.
- Interactive terminal behavior offers `fly auth login` and `fly auth signup`.
- `-y` on a terminal runs login
