Introduced 2026-09-29 · score 0.92
HOW TO USE IT
When deleting multiple Cloud Tasks, pass the queue and task input file to `gcloud alpha` or `gcloud beta tasks delete`; optionally write failed or skipped tasks to an output file. The input file can list task IDs/names one per line or use JSON/YAML format.
gcloud beta tasks delete --queue=<queue> --from-file=<tasks-file> --failed-tasks-file=<failed-tasks-file>gcloud alpha tasks delete --queue=<queue> --from-file=<tasks-file> --failed-tasks-file=<failed-tasks-file>WHY THIS HELPS
Delete multiple Cloud Tasks in one batch operation using task input and failed-task output files.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- Availability: alpha, beta
- --queue=<queue> (required): Queue the tasks belong to.
- --from-file=<tasks-file>: Path to a file containing task IDs/names to delete, one per line or in JSON/YAML format.
- --failed-tasks-file=<failed-tasks-file>: Path to a file for JSON details of tasks that failed or were skipped during batch deletion.
- Docs conflict: The alpha command reference, last updated 2026-05-27, documents only single-task deletion and omits both file flags; the beta command reference, last updated 2026-09-29, documents batch deletion and both flags. https://docs.cloud.google.com/sdk/gcloud/reference/alpha/tasks/delete
