HOW TO USE IT
When creating or updating a backend service, set `--consistent-hash-minimum-ring-size=<size>` to configure the hash ring’s minimum virtual-node count.
gcloud compute backend-services create <BACKEND_SERVICE_NAME> --consistent-hash-minimum-ring-size=<SIZE>gcloud compute backend-services update <BACKEND_SERVICE_NAME> --consistent-hash-minimum-ring-size=<SIZE>WHY THIS HELPS
Configure a backend service's consistent hashing ring size.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- BACKEND_SERVICE_NAME (required): Name of the backend service.
- --consistent-hash-minimum-ring-size=<SIZE>: Minimum number of virtual nodes for the hash ring; defaults to 1024. Larger sizes give more granular load distributions. If the backend pool has more hosts than the ring size, each host gets one virtual node.
