github-mcp-server HTTP supports a custom listen address
Introduced 2026-06-18 · score 0.94
HOW TO USE IT
When the HTTP server needs a specific bind host, run its `http` command with `--listen-host` and `--port` set to the desired host and port. An empty listen host binds to all interfaces.
github-mcp-server http --listen-host 127.0.0.1 --port 8082WHY THIS HELPS
Configure the GitHub MCP server's HTTP listener for a repository development environment that requires a particular listen address.
BEFORE THIS CHANGE
The HTTP server bound to all interfaces on the configured port; the custom host setting was not available.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- Version: v1.4.0
- --listen-host: Host for the HTTP server to bind to; empty by default, which binds to all interfaces. Environment variable: `GITHUB_LISTEN_HOST`.
- --port: HTTP server port; defaults to 8082 and remains independently honored when `--listen-host` is set.
- Prerequisite: Use a GitHub MCP Server build that includes the v1.4.0 change.
