jj operation views filter revisions and allow override

Introduced 2026-04-02 · score 0.90

HOW TO USE IT

When reviewing operation changes with jj v0.40.0, use `jj op show`, `jj op diff`, or `jj op log -p`; they show revisions selected by `revsets.op-diff-changes-in` by default. Pass `--show-changes-in <REVSETS>` to override the selection.

jj op show --show-changes-in '<REVSETS>'
jj op diff --show-changes-in '<REVSETS>'
jj op log -p --show-changes-in '<REVSETS>'

WHY THIS HELPS

Inspect operation changes while reviewing or debugging repository history.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

  • Version: v0.40.0
  • --show-changes-in <REVSETS>: Overrides the selected revisions shown by `jj op show`, `jj op diff`, and `jj op log -p`.
  • revsets.op-diff-changes-in: Revset selecting revisions considered interesting in operation diffs; revisions outside it are elided into a summary count. Default: `mutable() | immutable_heads()`.
  • By default, only revisions defined as “interesting” by `revsets.op-diff-changes-in` are shown.
