k6 x lists available subcommands

Introduced 2026-06-30 · score 0.96

HOW TO USE IT

When selecting a k6 extension subcommand for a repository workflow, run `k6 x` to list built-in and catalog-advertised subcommands. Tab completion shows the catalog entries after a prior `k6 x` run caches the catalog locally.

k6 x

WHY THIS HELPS

Discover available k6 extension subcommands before selecting one for a repository workflow.

BEFORE THIS CHANGE

The release note says k6 previously had no way to introspect which extension subcommands were available.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

  • Version: v2.1.0
  • Prerequisite: For tab completion to show catalog entries, run `k6 x` first to cache the catalog locally.
  • Tab completion surfaces the same set only once the catalog has been cached locally by a prior `k6 x` run.
