Lighthouse CLI audits multiple URLs in one invocation

Introduced 2026-10-27 · score 0.97

HOW TO USE IT

When auditing several preview or test URLs, pass the URLs positionally or provide a newline-delimited URL file; Lighthouse runs sequentially and saves an individual report for each URL.

lighthouse https://example.com https://example.org
lighthouse --url-file=./urls.txt --output-path=./reports

WHY THIS HELPS

When auditing several repository preview or test URLs, run Lighthouse audits in one CLI invocation and save the reports.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

  • Version: 13.6.0
  • Non-interactive: First CLI run prompts whether to anonymously report runtime exceptions; the docs give no non-interactive answer flag or variable.
  • Non-interactive: `--output=json` sends a single-run JSON report to stdout by default; for multiple URLs, JSON reports are saved as individual files.
  • --url-file: Path to a file containing newline-delimited URLs; blank lines and # comments are ignored.
  • --output-path: Output file or directory; for multiple URLs, the directory must already exist.
  • --output: Report format; defaults to HTML. Multiple URLs with JSON output produce individual JSON reports.
  • --fail-fast: Stop auditing remaining URLs immediately after a run fails.
  • --ignore-status-code: Warn instead of failing on error status codes.
  • Prerequisite: Install Lighthouse CLI with `npm install -g lighthouse`.
  • Prerequisite: Node.js 22 (LTS) or later is required.
  • `--url-file` contains newline-delimited URLs; blank lines and `#` comments are ignored.
  • When multiple URLs are provided, `--output=json` writes individual `.report.json` files instead of defaulting to `stdout`.
  • When multiple URLs are provided, `--output-path` must be an existing directory.
  • `-G`/`--gather-mode` and `-A`/`--audit-mode` are disallowed when auditing multiple URLs.
