netlify logs adds the server log source
Introduced 2026-10-27 · score 0.98
HOW TO USE IT
When debugging an application, read Netlify Server logs with `netlify logs --source server`; limit history with `--since 30m` or stream new lines with `--follow`.
netlify logs --source server --since 30mnetlify logs --follow --source serverWHY THIS HELPS
Inspect Netlify Server logs while debugging an application.
BEFORE THIS CHANGE
`netlify logs` had no way to read Netlify Server logs.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- Version: 27.15.0
- Non-interactive: `--json` outputs logs as JSON Lines.
- --source: Log sources; defaults to functions and edge-functions.
- --since: Historical window start; accepts duration or ISO 8601; defaults to 10m.
- --follow: Stream logs instead of showing historical logs.
- --json: Output logs as JSON Lines.
- `--deploy-id` and `--url` are rejected with `--source server`, because server logs are not tied to a deploy.
- History paging stops 10,500 lines back; when that cuts the window short, the command warns on stderr, including with `--json`.
- `--follow` polls every 2 seconds with a 10-second look-back and prints only lines it has not printed yet. It stops on a 401, 403, or 404; it reports other failures without stopping.
