HOW TO USE IT
When developing or inspecting a project with browser automation, run `npx playwright mcp` to start the MCP server or `npx playwright cli` to invoke the CLI. For CLI use, pass a documented command such as `open <url>`; use the release’s bundled entry points.
npx playwright mcpnpx playwright cli --helpnpx playwright cli open <url>WHY THIS HELPS
Use Playwright's bundled command line or MCP server while developing or inspecting a project.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- Version: v1.62.0
- Prerequisite: MCP docs list Node.js 20 or newer and an MCP client as prerequisites.
- Prerequisite: CLI docs list Node.js 20 or newer and a coding agent as prerequisites.
- The release says the server and CLI are bundled with Playwright.
- Docs conflict: Current MCP setup docs show `npx @playwright/mcp@latest`; current CLI setup docs show installing `@playwright/cli` and using `npx playwright cli`. These describe separate package setup; the v1.62.0 release says the Playwright package bundles both entry points.
