HOW TO USE IT
When reviewing a Railway deployment, inspect metrics for the linked service (last hour by default) or select a service and environment; use the documented filters, time range, or output mode for the needed detail.
railway metrics --service <service> --environment <environment> --since 6h --jsonrailway metrics --http --method POST --path /api/usersrailway metrics --raw --json --cpuWHY THIS HELPS
Inspect service or project resource and HTTP metrics while debugging or reviewing a Railway deployment.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- Version: v4.45.0
- --service <service>: Select service by name or ID; defaults to linked service; conflicts with --all.
- --all: Show metrics for every service in the project; conflicts with --raw.
- --environment <environment>: Select environment by name or ID; defaults to linked environment.
- --since <time>: Window start; relative value (1h, 6h, 1d, 7d) or ISO 8601; defaults to 1h.
- --until <time>: Window end, using same formats as --since; defaults to now; conflicts with --watch.
- --cpu: Show CPU metrics only, unless combined with other metric group filters.
- --memory: Show memory metrics only, unless combined with other metric group filters.
- --network: Show public network traffic only, unless combined with other metric group filters.
- --volume: Show volume/disk metrics only, unless combined with other metric group filters.
- --http: Show HTTP metrics only, unless combined with other metric group filters.
- --method <method>: Filter HTTP metrics by request method; requires --http; method value is case-insensitive enum.
- --path <path>: Filter HTTP metrics by request path; requires --http.
- --json: Output in JSON format; conflicts with --watch.
- --raw: Output raw time-series data points instead of summaries; conflicts with --all and --watch.
- --watch: Continuously refresh metrics in a live TUI dashboard; conflicts with --json, --raw, and --until.
- Prerequisite: Install Railway CLI and authenticate with `railway login`; link a project/environment for the command context. Official CLI docs list installation and authentication steps.
- Prerequisite: HTTP filters `--method` and `--path` require `--http`; `--watch` supports only documented time ranges for `--since`.
