HOW TO USE IT

When an authorized agent shares a token, pass its ID as `payment_method_data.shared_payment_granted_token` when creating and confirming a PaymentIntent. In test mode, create a test token and revoke it to exercise those scenarios.

WHY THIS HELPS

Accept a payment initiated by an authorized agent on a customer's behalf in an integration under development.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

  • Availability: Public preview (API version 2026-04-22.preview).
  • payment_method (required): PaymentMethod to be shared by the test token.
  • usage_limits (required): Limits on use of the test token; documented example includes `currency`, `expires_at`, and `max_amount`. Definitions for these sub-keys were not accessible.
  • payment_method_data.shared_payment_granted_token: The release note identifies this PaymentIntent parameter for passing the token; parameter requiredness and description were not accessible in the opened reference.
  • amount (required): Positive integer amount to collect, in the currency’s smallest unit.
  • currency (required): Lowercase three-letter ISO currency code supported by Stripe.
  • confirm: Set to `true` to attempt to confirm the PaymentIntent immediately; defaults to `false`.
