wrangler ai-search commands target namespaces

Introduced 2026-04-28 · score 0.98

HOW TO USE IT

When targeting a non-default AI Search namespace, pass `--namespace <NAMESPACE>` (or `-n`); omission uses `default`. Use `wrangler ai-search namespace` subcommands to manage namespaces directly.

npx wrangler ai-search list --namespace <NAMESPACE>
npx wrangler ai-search create <NAME> --namespace <NAMESPACE> --type <TYPE> --source <SOURCE>
npx wrangler ai-search namespace create <NAME> --description "<DESCRIPTION>"

WHY THIS HELPS

Manage an AI Search instance in a specific namespace or manage namespaces directly.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

  • Version: 4.86.0
  • <NAME> (required): Instance name for instance commands; namespace name for namespace commands.
  • --namespace <NAMESPACE> / -n <NAMESPACE>: Selects the instance namespace; defaults to `default`.
  • --type <TYPE>: Sets the AI Search instance source type.
  • --source <SOURCE>: Sets the data source identifier, such as an R2 bucket name or web URL.
  • --description <DESCRIPTION>: Sets an optional namespace description (maximum 256 characters).
  • Prerequisite: Install Wrangler to use its CLI commands; the docs do not specify a minimum version for these commands.
  • Namespace picker is offered only when `--namespace` is not supplied in an interactive session.
  • Docs conflict: The official Cloudflare changelog dated June 10, 2026 describes namespace-level Wrangler commands as newly supported, later than the card's Wrangler 4.86.0 release note. The current command reference documents those commands but does not resolve the version discrepancy.
