wrangler versions deploy accepts --version-tag

Introduced 2026-06-09 · score 0.98

HOW TO USE IT

If you need to deploy or roll back a Worker version by its upload tag, run `wrangler versions deploy --version-tag <sha>@100%`. Tags resolve against deployable versions; if a tag is missing or ambiguous, or the version is no longer deployable, use its Version ID instead.

wrangler versions deploy --version-tag <sha>@100%

WHY THIS HELPS

Roll out or roll back a Worker version identified by its upload tag.

BEFORE THIS CHANGE

Look up the version ID first, then deploy using that ID.

REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS

  • Version: 4.99.0
  • --version-tag <tag> (required): Worker Version tag to deploy; resolves to a Version ID among deployable versions. Accepts `<tag>@<percentage>` shorthand.
  • Prerequisite: Use Wrangler 4.99.0 or later for `--version-tag` support.
  • Prerequisite: Wrangler versions commands require Wrangler 3.40.0 or later; versions before 3.73.0 require `--x-versions`.
  • Tags resolve only against recent deployable versions.
  • If a tag matches no deployable version or matches more than one, the command errors and asks you to deploy by Version ID directly.
  • Older versions that have aged out of the deployable window must be deployed by Version ID.
