wrangler versions upload adds strict pre-upload checks
Introduced 2026-06-30 · score 0.96
HOW TO USE IT
When uploading a Worker version in CI or another non-interactive environment, run `wrangler versions upload --strict` to abort on the listed configuration conflicts.
npx wrangler versions upload --strictWHY THIS HELPS
Upload a Worker version in CI or another non-interactive environment where configuration conflicts must stop the upload.
BEFORE THIS CHANGE
Dashboard-edited Worker configuration previously triggered an unconditional warning; the release note says the check now warns only for destructive diffs.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- Version: wrangler@4.106.0
- --strict: Boolean; defaults to false. Enables strict mode, which prevents uploads when there are conflicting remote changes.
- [PATH]: Optional path to a Worker entry point or static assets directory.
- Prerequisite: Wrangler 3.40.0 or later is required for versions commands. Wrangler 4.106.0 meets this minimum.
- `--strict` aborts in non-interactive/CI environments when any of the listed conflicts are detected.
- Dashboard-edited Worker configurations are warned about only when the diff is destructive.
- Warnings are shown for local configuration values that conflict with remote secrets and workflows belonging to a different Worker.
